Sean Bretz, machinery technician for the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville suffered from a giant aneurysm in June 2011, causing a massive stroke. Nearly a year later, Bretz attended the USCG change of command ceremony at U.S. Naval Station Mayport where Captain Andy Blomme was giving a farewell address and speaking about petty officer Bretz and his remarkable recovery. Later that day Bretz went over to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville to visit with the medical team that took care of him.
