Streets of Rage has always offered better variety, in my opinion. That's why I prefer it. The awesome music doesn't hurt, either. ^_^

Streets of Rage is tons better then final fight. Although I do love Final Fight 2. But as far as beat em ups....Streets of Rage 2 is the king!

Easy win for Streets of Rage.

FF1 Snes vs. SOR 1- Easy win for Streets of Rage (wins in every category except graphics) If we are using the arcade version or Sega CD then FF 1 wins.

FF2 vs. SOR 2- SOR 2 is the greatest beat em up ever and this a blow out. FF 2 is an okay game but a weak effort by Capcom doing the bare minimum with the sequel.

FF3 vs. SOR 3- I call draw. I hate the music in SOR 3 and art design but the gameplay is amazing. FF3 great graphics, but way to easy.

The problem is that the SNES version of Final Fight isn't good, and that's the version people generally use to compare to SoR. The Arcade version of Final Fight is considered (until today) a reference of how a respectable beat'em up should be.

One thing in favour of SoR is that the improved a lot as they released new version, while Final Fight got worse.

Streets of Rage is crap compared to Final Fight. At 1st, they copied Final Fight. Even some characters look the same. The gameplay is awful (reminds me of Rival Turf, which is bad) and the graphics are a bad joke (the characters look rly weird!!).

I've played all six games and I prefer the Streets of Rage series overall... What made the difference to me, was that as both games evolved, SoR continued to get more content, like the F,F+B move in SoR 2, followed by the ability to run and roll in SoR 3 as well, not to mention the hidden characters and multiple routes! The Final Fight series does come a close second place to me, and I have played many many games of this type, but I think the Streets of Rage series has a better flow to it... :-)
