Virtual Console - Rondo of Blood 1

Guess what came out on the VC today? Castlevania (or Dracula X, if you're japanese like the release) Rondo of Blood, for the Turbo Grafx-16. My MPEG incoding software decided to start working again, so I can now capture slightly better quality videos (for certain games) without worrying about running out of memory on my computer.

For a comparison between the various quality settings of the raw footage (before I put it through Movie Maker).

DirectShow: Splash Woman Vid (that I uploaded) took over 4 gigs of space.
MPEG (720x480 I believe): 19:18 Rondo video took only 923 megs.
WMV (really tiny): 4:46 long MWR vid that takes up 15 megs of space. (these have to be run through WMM, or else the audio either skips ahead or lags behind the video)

I run pretty much everthing through WMM first before uploading, as that ensures the audio doesn't glitch, and that the sizes aren't ridiculous.

Update - March 17 - Wow, 1000 hits? That was...fast. Never thought that many people would watch this. Guess I shouldn't underestimate the size of the Castlevania fanbase.

so is there an almost 1" thick black border around the screen when you play this too? I just bought it last night and I was a little pissed there is an annoying black border all the way around the screen...I didn't know if it was because I am playing on an HDTV or what but I can't get it to go away

That is probably there so the aspect ratio remains in line with what it is supposed to look like. If it doesn't, then the pixels look skewed and the graphics don't look all to good.

what kind of sd card do you use? my system memory is full and i want this game now! are all brands compatible?

I use a 2GB PNY Optima SD card.

As long as it says SD, it should be, but it would be best to check online to find out for sure.

Is this the closest game to symphony of the night? Thats my favorite game but I've beat it so many times I'd like another game like it to beat before I play Sotn again first..

the voice is from PSP.The Virtual Console also has the censored werewolf from the PSP version(while the original PC-Engine,he's clearly completely naked)

The German Voice is STRAIGHT Out of the PSP Version.

Must be, as Konami ran into the exact same problem with X-Men Arcade, having to redub all the lines for its XBLA/PSN release.
