  • Thanks for the upload. We are getting ready to perform Amahl in our church as an outreach to our community for a Christmas Program. We've been looking for a while for a movie and here it is! It will definitely help us to act the play. We love the story especially the miracle that happened. GOD is still making miracles by the way!

  • @boblynwilliams Glad you enjoyed it. There are so many versions of this opera, and I know the original from the 50's is dear to many, but this is still my favorite version.

  • @vanguardmellophone Hello, Feliz Día de los Reyes Magos! I like the original 1950s presentation, and I have the audio. I wondered if the video is available anywhere. I don't recall finding it in Amazon, when I purchased the audio disc.

    Thanks!

  • today i went on a feildtrip for this excep wasnt as beautiful as this :)

  • This little boy has an amazing voice. I'm glad the composer stipulated that under no circumstances should this role be performed by a girl or woman. People still do it, but there are some wonderful little boy sopranos out there who can handle this role.

  • 5:00 and 5:30, ah! So glorious! But then it's so much more emotionally complex at 6:55. Thank you Menotti.

  • This is one of my favorite movies. I'm so glad I found it. Thank you for uploading it. Now to find the dvd

  • thank you, thank you, THAAAANK YOU for the upload!

  • Thank you soooo much for posting this entire program! I have been looking for it for years and wished they would play it on TV again. I remember watching when I was kid living in rural Wisconsin. We only got one TV station out in the boonies but great programs like this made it ok. I'll be passing it down to my 'kids' , the youngest of which is now 25, so they can pass it on to my grandchildren some day.

Happy Holidays, or to not be PC-- Merry Christmas!

  • Tears of joy!!!!!!!!!!! "You dressed as a gypsy and I as a clown." "I'll play my pipes,, you'll sing and you'll shout!" I love this opera soooooooo much!!! Thank you for posting.
