If you could only ever see one Macworld keynote with Steve Jobs, this would be it. In the final half hour of this Macworld, Mr. Jobs was at the top of his game with the audience completely eating out of his hand. Apple had the technology introductions to back it up too: the world's first 17in widescreen notebook, the first full featured 12in notebook, first ever introduction of 802.11g, first ever backlit keyboard, first introduction of firewire 800. With each introduction the audience goes crazy, and Steve continues to bring them out with perfect salesman timing.

In the 2nd part he begins with just how much Apple is investing in wireless, and ends with the introduction of the 12in powerbook. The baby powerbook would go on to become one of the most lusted after powerbooks ever, definitely a favorite among users even today after its been replaced by the macbook series.

  • Basically when they introduced this notebook, they provided the blueprint for their pro line to this day. Little has actually changed, the internals are different and they're unibody now, but they've pretty much remained the same since 2003. Interesting and impressive.

  • $3299? You can get a Mac Pro for less nowadays. It's so amazing how technology and their prices evolve.

  • Its funny how a computer design thats 6 years old is still by far the best in the business. The only thing thats better is the new design that replaced it 5 years after. Just shows how ahead of their own time they are, Jon Ive is the best designer in the world.
