On June 4th 2007 Houston Sin Fronteras shut down the Houston Processing Center in Solidarity with the International day of action for freedom of movement called for by the Dissent Network resisting the G8 meetings in Germany.

The Houston Processing Center is a immigrant detention facility run by the Corrections Corporation of America, and the worlds first private prison, opened in 1983.

This was a production of the Houston Sin Fronteras Defense Committee and Houston Indymedia. The Timeline was the breaking news coverage provided by Houston IMC on June 4th.

  • That is not a good way to protest a private prison.

They take your tax money by billing the federal government $100 per day for each person in the place. So they make more money if people give them a reason to hold them over night. 6 months ago the stock was $20 per share and today it is over $25 per share. They just have lobby to make a law to make it a crime to work in the USA, be in The USA and a lot of other things. Soon they will make it a crime to protest : )

  • Man, 6 minutes of video, and not one single shot of me? I was there the whole time!

  • deport illegal mexican

  • You right something does need to change. Mexicans need to stay the fuck out of my country unless they can do it legally , or them and their familes will continue to suffer the consequences. Just as BudBowl stated , It's you and your husbands responsibility to learn and follow United States law. Just like everyone else. America ows you nothing.

  • It's you and your husbands responsibility to learn and follow United States law. Just like every other citizen. You could have gone to a legal aid society and petitioned to have fees waived. Many times this will happen.

  • I disagree with KC. my husband is in a detainment facility. We are married and have 2 citizen kids,we never had the money to file his papers when you live paycheck to paycheck its not easy. He came to this country legally when he was 16 on a visa, his parents never took the responsibility and renewed his passport by the time he was a legal adult it was already too late. Should my family suffer because of this? These laws treat good ones the same as rapists, and murders something needs to change

  • So badass!

  • The laws in this country are black and white. It's real simple. If you are here illegally, than you are a CRIMINAL. I hope all these fools were arrested. Sin Fronteras can go to hell. Stinking liberals.

  • very nice job on the video. thanks for sharing it.
