Save The Lowell Mountains - Save Vermont's Mountains - Shirley and Don Nelson

Don and Shirley Nelson of Lowell, Vermont who have spent their lives farming, raising their children, and loving Vermont. Here they speak about the effects on Wildlife and Vermont - tourism and the tacit agreement that Vermont is rural - which is what attracts most Vermonters to live and stay in Vermont and tourists from all over the world that most of Vermont depends on in all of its industries.

Don and Shirley have been involved in educating people about the ruinous nature of Industrial Wind Turbines for nine years and specifically Quebec's Gaz Metro's Green Mountain Power for the last 3 years. On August 13th, 2010 they looked out their window to see their historic barn burning. Don's father had moved it to the family farm when Don was 5 and reassembled the historic, two story structure board by board. The barn burned within two hours . . a structure like this normally takes a day to go down. They watched as charges exploded along the ridgeline of their beloved barn - helpless to stop it. Despite an investigation - no one has ever been charged with this horrendous crime. We feel there was a clear message being sent to all who oppose Industrial Corporate Wind and the ruin of our mountains in Vermont.

Vermont has been proven to be a solar and hydro state - it cannot support industrial wind. It is clear to many that this is a grab at the millions in non-pay-back-able U.S. Federal dollars - Corporate Welfare. Industrial Wind is NOT green.

voice would help...maybe Woopie Goldberg who is on the View and just

sold her place in Vermont would speak up...give it a shot...do anything

to be heard publically. People near Hudson, NY won a case, stopping a

cement factory from being built on the edge of the Hudson River and

the people won (BUT it was a wealthy community)...Good Luck to you all

Bill Moyers said on PBS interview that only 3 percent of the real news stories get out. Vermont Public Radio has Quebec Gaz Metro's Mary Powell sitting on their board - they have info mercials all day long touting GMPower . .

No Troy and someone who was supposed to be friend, Bud Carter, went behind her back and had the paper company cut down her trees for lumber when she wasn't up there. I had a moble home in Westfield (Rt 100) formerly owned by
