@shilohphoenix If you guys would just play with a *little* bit of balls you would sound at least 10x more full. You should also keep in mind that SMU marches a much more difficult style, and never plays the same show for the same crowd twice. Not to mention that this particular show was after some time on Bourbon Street.

@shilohphoenix I'd rather push the volume. I was in a great high school band that placed in 5A state marching finals and I got tired of the "nice ensemble sound". Loudness gets crowds going much more than nicer, more controlled volumes and that is what college band is all about. Plus, the majority of the SMU band members are engineering majors that were good players in high school, like me.

Great show! Who gives a crap about how big the froggy band is? Certainly not me.
Crank up that volume! Especially if it hurts the froggy's ears.

@shilohphoenix No need to apologize. We tried for many moons to get a better sound, but we lost volume and the alums didn't like that. ;-)
And I was one of those music majors.

I'm not trying to insult smu's band. I respect them a lot. we're just forced to sound good haha.

I go to tcu. the smu band plays freaking loud. also freaking terrible because of how loud they're trying to play. the tcu band plays less loud per person but we're 4 times the size. so we sound better. but then again. there's maybe one music major in the SMU band. the whole tcu band is music majors. we have to march.

To the person who said your band plays louder, it doesn't. YouTube can't grasp how loud we play.

if you notice they arent that big. my high school band is bigger than that. and we play 20 times louder. but they still played very good.
