Apparently the song is about how we are abusing the earth's natural resources, but now the penny has dropped ("The penny drops from the top of Tour Eiffel

Through the boulevards to Taj Mahal") that we can't treating our planet so badly without any consequences. Spanish scientists researched heavy metal contamination in the earth and found ways to protect food and water.

And that is why it's called 'Spanish Metal'.

I am Spanish and i can´t understand this song. Why is called "Spanish Metal"? Why says "From the Spanish mean to Yorkshire Moor"? It has not sense. But is great, like evry song of Kaiser Chiefs.
