Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Karelin, or simply Alexander Karelin, (Russian: Александр Александрович Карелин; born September 19, 1967 in Novosibirsk, Russian SFSR) was a dominant Greco-Roman wrestler for the Soviet Union and later, after its dissolution, for Russia. He won gold medals at the 1988, 1992, and 1996 Olympic Games. Nicknamed the "Russian Bear", he went undefeated in international competition from 1987 until 2000, when he was upset by American Rulon Gardner in the gold-medal match at the Summer Olympics. Karelin went the last six years of his unbeaten streak without giving up a point.

I watch this every day before I train - such a well put together video. I used to cut off the old version before he lost, somehow defeated the purpose - but now with the tekken soundtrack usage I'm all over the ending as well!

@4metequila and the point was only given because karelin broke a hold. lol its not like gardner dominated. dont get me wrong gardner is awesome no doubt gardner said karelin is the greatest ever. its a fact even before this match karelin was involved in politics and that took its toll even though he was beating people easily he was losing his fire. respect to karelin. the closest man us humans are going toget to hurculese

The olympic games are per 4 years ... he has 3 olympic gold medals and lost in the finals in his 4th olympic games thats 16 years undefieted .... i am so mad that he lost by 1 point from the USA in the finals HIS ONLY LOSS

i liked every bit of the video except for the last part...it kinda brought me down...to see the world claim that one defeat as an actal defeat...nd make gardner a hero nd say all sorts of things ike "gardner is kryptonite" nd what not...karelin is the who made gardner look like a rag doll a few yrs earlier when he was in his prime....it wasnt gardner that beat Karelin...it was age....
