The other thing is the IG are made to defend worlds wheras the SM are out rooting out the scum of the galaxy so they both operate differently. Which is why the guard have good range and massive fire power along with powerful armoured columns, artillery and super tanks. Thats the way they work. So saying omg their crap because..is stupid because every army will have a strength and a weakness and anyone can easily turn around and say well then YOUR SM, eldar e.t.c army is shit because...

Well, the reason the IG guns and infantry armor sucks so much, is 'cause A: they make so many super vehicles, and B: They have so many people in the IG that they don't need anything better. It was probably planned, that they would get suck weapons and armor. They are more just there to be meat shields until the tanks get there XD Or unless they have a few hundred more soldiers with them...
