http://chris.pirillo.com/how-to-increase-wifi-speed/ - Networking is complicated, and businesses often spend a great deal of their available revenue on their IT department in order to keep their various systems talking to each other. At home, small and medium sized networks are becoming more and more common as our devices begin to integrate the net in to what they do.

In the past, you would connect a modem to your computer and that was the extent of your networking needs. If you had multiple computers, you may have invested in a second network card and switch, hub, or even a full-on router if you really wanted to go all out. Now, having a router in your home is as common as having a television set.

Jake Ludington and Brandon Wirtz of LockerGnome tackled the wireless network at my home and found a few areas in need of improvement. Once they put a fix in place, we sat down to discuss their tips on improving wireless speed.

  • another reason why apple make crappy hardware

  • Apple makes decent computers, but what kind of dumbfuck buys an Airport router?! They don't even have external antennas, cannot be hung, don't offer as good coverage as a Linksys router for $60, and are EXTREMELY overpriced.

  • @iStaunchYou It the Apple wireless router.

  • Oh God! You cut off the clip just when he was about to explan something that sounded really important!

  • @WerthersRyummy if you're planning to use it as a repeater, you will lose about half of your bandwidth...you're better off daisy chaining it to your main with the net cable and running on the same channel...you'll have to get into the setting on the secondary and configure it to extend the range...those options should be covered in the manual

  • @spudw2k tech knowledge comes from the willingness to do research and ask the people that have more experience questions, from what ive seen.. if chris doesnt know how to do something or doesnt know about something,he asks questions

  • I feel like the guy on the right is dying to laugh whenever he talks.

  • @lockergnome you do
