I've been a classic VW nut for years, I had a 1969 VW bug as my first car. I kinda miss that thing and hope to find another someday, but when the New Beetle came out I got excited. After its novelty wore off it became excessively "cute" and it seems that Volkswagen has done a number at reviving the car and bringing it out as a "New New Beetle" once again giving it a pair of nuts this time.

I like it, its a far cry from the original, though its styling seems to be more reminiscent of the original than the first generation New Beetle was.

Also called The Beetle
21st Century Beetle

So whats that static image at the end of the video? Well thats a simple "hack" to allow me to select it as a thumbnail.

  • i have this car as for my everyday use..really fun to drive. If you just like to cruise, chill, music..this car is awesome..the style is great also. and yes it looks like a midget porsche panamera.

  • I think it looks great! I'd buy one. I had a 2002 Beetle Turbo S that I do miss sometimes. But I don't understand why they say turbo engine from the Jetta and not from the GTI, just sounds better, and its truth.

  • @arsailor89 i got the same vibe.

  • kind of reminds me of a porsche.

  • Is it just me or does anyone else see some subtle design cues from Porsche? It reminds me a lot of the '05 911. I love the direction they took it in. Sadly, I don't think I'd ever get a FR vehicle

  • Good vid of a beautiful car. I own one. Note the lack of a keyhole on any doors (there's a hidden keyhole on the driver's side under a protective cover). The first thing I did was remove the rear headrests on mine as they severely obstruct the rear view (yes, I will re-install them as needed for passenger safety). This car is the fastest and best handling factory Beetle yet.
