Boxer Dog Apologizing

My family had a Boxer from when I was 4 yrs old til 16 yrs. I'm still convinced they are the best dogs on earth. They have so much personality. When my dad would go upstairs my mom and I would let him lay out on the couch. But as soon as he heard my dad's footsteps coming down the stairs he would bolt to his mat, sit with perfect posture, and stare straight forward like a military man at attention. Made us crack up every time.

My beagle use to do the same thing. He was the perfect dog with us there but when we left he went into anxiety attack mode and would just tear up the whole house. We never punished him either because we new it was because he was scared to be alone. So we took him on longer walks so he would just sleep when we were gone.

You can get picrures of your boxer when he is awake?!?!?! I cant even get pictures of my boxer when he is asleep.
Looks like someone could use a little obedience training. I'm sure your dog would take you if he could afford it. He's probably getting really tired of you getting onto him every time he does something.

@garciajennifer223 Luckily, Bodie grew out off all of his "bad" behavior after a couple months. We were fortunate to be able to use positive actions to curve his anxiety. Longer daily walks, new toys, and a friend were the right cure. We never got onto Bodie for acting up because we knew it was his way to letting us know something was wrong. We did however want to document it through pictures and be able to share with all of the other boxer lovers.

If you havent already done so, get him neutered...that will calm him considerably! It makes for a happier boxer.

@cynicalpanic Yes we had him neutered as soon as the vet said it was okay. Most of these pictures were taken before he was neutered and over a span of a couple years. I definitely agree, it is a must to neuter your dog.
