If you have a little experience in programming (like, idk, a computer science degree) would it be pretty easy to pick up unrealscript?
-
Grappling the ground doesn't hurt you when you land? >_>

Cool. Just like spider man.

U made this without any background in programming. U are inspiring, nice work

FPS Spider-man ftw!

would make for a sick spiderman game

Cool man, I just started using UDK so this is really impressive to see, must've taken you a while. Nice one!

@MrDanman31 Thanks man, link to the downloadable version (which actually has the ability to adjust the rope with mousewheel) is in the description, feel free to download it and try it out for fun.

Well done, very good.
Was it hard work? I can only imagine it consisting of loads of nodes in the Kismet.

@Jaky2008PSN You can't do this via kismet, it's all unrealscript. Yes, it took me a ton of work b/c I have no background in programming, but most of the time was spent on tweaking it and adding new things (like the rope swinging effect).

All hail Just Cause 2, who gave us the ultimate implementation of this feature.

@zibits3D I sort of disagree which is why I made this, you can't just hang out and swing in JC2, and it's also very scripted like in most games (it just pulls you in on a wire). I wanted to make a true rope, so it feels dynamic and sometimes its just fun to just swing around like a monkey! Feel free to download and play with it, you can find it in the Project Showoff, WIP section (or linked in my signature on udk forums).
