One of the most well known Irish jigs is "Irish Washerwoman" and is here played for you on our Stella 17 1/4 inch Grand console music box. The tune has roots dating back to the 17th century and the original composer appears to remain unknown. I also have multiple versions of this tune in the collection recorded on both early cylinder and disc records but the music box version is my favorite. I hope that you enjoy this spirited tune rendered on our Stella and thanks, as always, for stopping in for a visit.

  • Much more in tune than some of these disks (I guess some age better than others). Very bright and bell-like.
