There's one other possibility; the barrow pushers might have come to HK as tourists and gambled it all away. I've often thought The Two could easily pull a concept album from this place. And careful with that Walkman lest you become a luckless pedestrian. True story - person was killed here when hit by by someone falling from a building.

@hklinker. Well Y'know they've all a place as extras'n'walk-on's in that grand moving tableau that is my Holiday recollection.Oblivious to the magical tones of Df, they may have been, but unless the gold buying, tourists and other outlanders were pushing barrows, hand-carts or adopting that pedantic bulldozer type stance that screams "I'm on my way to work, make way!" then I guess many of those I saw were locals. Were they were like me? maybeso.I wasn't the only one with a walkman.;-)

Donald Fagen. Unbelievable!

You say you were watching local folks but I bet they were visitors, like you. Mainlanders dragging around families, getting ready to shop for gold, and oblivious to the sounds of DF. A small tragedy.

Dang, I wish I could write music this bizarre yet awesome!

uno dei più grandi compositori viventi
My roommate is a friend of Fagen's wife Libby and visits the Fagens all the time. I meanwhile am the lifelong Steely Dan fan in the apartment, and that bastard meets and becomes friends with Donald Fagen.
I of course must now turn to a life of crime.
