Its a really beautiful place... particularly given the area its in. Its like stepping into another world as you walk through the gates.

the thing that makes cold mountain sad for me, is the idea of a time that has passed, people gone, it evokes a tragic nostalgia, and its the music that mainly does it. good choice of scenery, as what you chose is monuments to those who once lived. all that remains of them is monuments and decaying grave stones, that will not last. its an ode to mortality.

I would get the mayor involedmy grandmother is buried there I cant belive the city of dallas would alllow okland to be so run down . also the city concil should be involed with a plan to fund the park so to give the people buride there a place thats beautiful and quite.something has to be done.

Thank you for the lovely slideshow and music. Sadly, both my parents are buried in Oakland. The cemetery has very little $ in its trust so the place has deteriorated so much. I have tried to research ways to get more money for upkeep but have been unsuccessful. Many notable Dallasites and Texans are buried there. It seems like the state or county would have an interest in funding its repair. If anyone has a suggestion, please email me. Thanks Sarah
