  • This video is from Abbas, so its a professionally made video. So regarding the attachment of C5b, its probably disputed. Who really cares anyway (I'm not a researcher though)

  • I checked Janeway's Immunobiology and it says that C5b binds to C6 and C7 before attaching to the target's surface. I don't really know who's got it right, if Janeway or Goldsby, but C5b does not stay attached to the alternative C5 convertase.

  • Great video, but there is a little mistake. When the alternative C5 convertase cleaves C5, the resulting C5b binds to the target's membrane to start MAC (membrane attack complex). The video shows that C5b remains attached to alternative C5 convertase. I verified this in Goldsby's Immunology 5th edition. Send your comments or questions. thanks.
