  • Yes! That is a good idea. Using the food saver on the inner layer would be a good idea too as it is thick plastic.

  • I am pretty sure 1 layer of tinfoil over an insulated object is enough. Just make sure you fold the seems nicelly so it's as tight as you can.

  • I wonder if the foil on the phone would stop a tracking system from finding location of phone and of course person with the phone.

  • Cool I have all of the above. even the folding table you re working on , LOL! Great Idea!

  • hi buddy - i don't know if this will work -but i saw another you tube video that said that essentially a microwave is a Faraday cage -it will stop microwaves from leaving and other electromagnetic effects from coming in -but it still has to be grounded.

  • Large freezer zip lock bags are fast for covering the aluminum foil between layers. Much faster and less cost and resources to use. Duck tape never hurt a seam to seal. Thanks for the heads up :)

  • Those tin cans you get popcorn in at christmas time would work great, also if you have a pickup truck, the metal toolbox across the bed would make a great faraday cage. Ammo boxes work great too.

  • Wouldn't it just be easier to go to walmart and buy a big cheap chinese junk plastic bin with removable lid. Cover the bottom part on the out side and overlapping the lip with foil and cover the lid overlapping the lip with foil. Pile your electronic crap inside. You can still open it, use it like normal. Of course, your cell phone and pc won't work if your service provider isn't covered in tin foil.

  • Do batteries themselves need to be hardened against emp?

  • Im not an expert at all. Is it a good idea to pull the battery out?

  • Tin foil, good for making hats too!
