There weren't too many trains running on August 10, 2011, but I caught a few other interesting pieces of railroad equipment. First up, was a Loram rail grinder. Unfortunately, it was not grinding when it passed by me, but they're always neat to see, anyways. After that, a high-rail truck was able to get on track one. The first time the truck pulled forward, the real wheelset came off the track, but I was unable to get a good shot of it. The problem was soon solved and the truck was on its way. After a while, the dispatcher allowed Norfolk Southern train 856 to pull through.

  • what was the things on top of the railgrinder water tanks

  • Wow, I sure am glad to watch this because I always wanted to see how a high-rail truck worked to get on the tracks. I’m still curious as to how they align them up so well.

  • I'd do this for a living after retirement for $50/week.
