Frequently, parties and litigants will think that if they just get the other party on video or they just get the party on a tape recording that that is going to be the magic answer to everything and that's going to prove to the court that I'm right and the other party is wrong. Well, sometimes that can be true, but sometimes it can open another can of worms. There are all kinds of laws pertaining to wiretapping and tape-recording, and it's a really good idea if you're aware of those laws before you decide to tape-record or videotape somebody else because unlawful videotaping, unlawful video tape-recording can get you into a lot of trouble.
The laws of tape recording; it is all a part of the conspiracy to ensure that the police can save money on not being able to work with so much evidence to convict criminals, and for the judical system to be able to save money of convictions and prison sentances etc.
Less evidence, less work and thus less costs.
After all recording is a gold standard form of security as you say it is 'a magic solution'.
