I let my hair airdry. and then just curled the ends. It was a lot easier that way!! :)

The curling of the hair is for texture, more hold, and ease of creating the chignon

The purpose of curling it in advance is so that later when you reform the curls they actually hold.. duh...

Wait a second, the image of the chignon at the beginning is NOT the same as the one at the end. After all the product, the chignon at the end looks everything but sophisticated because it looks very dry and textured. I'll never use Nexxxxxxus.

@sweetaztecangel69 Usually, you just curl the ends, so if you have curly hair, straightening it would be best.
-
it's pretty! i don't think you'd need to curl it though...

Ditto, Jae0o0. What a waste of time using all those rollers then straightening it out. It's hard to find a classic chignon video. A real chignon takes less than 60 seconds to do and only three or four hair pins or bobby pins. It requires no elastic, unless you just want to. And it doesn't matter whether you're hair is curly or straight.
Now wait just a minute...
Spend the time curling your hair and then brush through it!?
Fark that.
