  • no big achievement in my eyes. ask pat parelli to do that and he will do, but with less stress for the horse.

and why does someone have to lead a horse with a bridle?

i will never understand that. especially that most people don't even know how to use a bridle or what to use it for.

  • @workingdogbarney ..Obviously you miss the point of the exercise. Josh Lyons was not showing that "he" could do it, but showing an easy way for "anybody" to be able to teach their horse to load in a trailer. Using a bridle is what 95% of riders are using to control their horse so I'm not sure what you are talking about. Olympic dressage rider, NRHA reining champions, hardcore cowboys or trail rider would probably have a different opinion about that. Have a nice day :)

  • @workingdogbarney Picture this. You go out on a trail ride with a new friend. S(he) is new to the horse or horses period. Spent an hour just getting the horse to the ride. Everyone gets back and wants to go home. This new friend begs for ur help, horse is bridled and saddled...this works. Or an accident has happened, u need to get panicked horse to trailer quickly...to take a trip to the hospital with said friend. It's not a substitute for ground work. It's knowledge for an unexpected situation.

  • I was at this clinic and even participated at one with my horse. There is many ways to do the trailer loading. I've been to Parelli's clinic as well. I think that we have to know many ways and use it if it fits with the horse we have to train. If not, we can use another way, the one that will work with that particular horse, whenever we've learn it from. As long as it is working, the horse understand it and it's safe. Have fun with your horses!

  • Meh, video was okay. Method, not too bad. I just like Monty Roberts way to do it better. I also don't like trailer that don't have a ramp because it always looks like the horse thinks he's going to fall off the edge of the earth LOL :)

I didn't get the bridle comment.... But that is why I think parreli people are kinda crazy...
