Harry Bosch is assigned a homicide call in South L.A. that takes him to Fortune Liquors, where the Chinese owner has been shot to death behind the counter in a robbery. Joined by members of the department's Asian Crime Unit, Bosch relentlessly investigates the killing and soon identifies a suspect, a Los Angeles member of a Hong Kong triad. But before Harry can close in, he gets the word that his young daughter Maddie, who lives in Hong Kong with her mother, is missing.

Bosch drops everything to journey across the Pacific to find his daughter. Could her disappearance and the case be connected? With the stakes of the investigation so high and so personal, Bosch is up against the clock in a new city, where nothing is at it seems.

Nine Dragons will be released in hardcover in the UK and Ireland on October 1, 2009, in the USA and Canada on October 13, 2009, and in Australia and New Zealand on October 21, 2009.

Yo man, I want 2 tell you that, It was a pleasure 2 meet ya Mike, u know when I went to the public library, I saw the cover of the book in the library's website known as a hot title, and went I pass by the booth of the LA Times Festival of Books 2 weeks ago, u wer there with this new book, so I have 2 get it, thanks man 4 da autograph, and wow I am in Ch.15 and I take this books everywhere I go, as 4 right now, all I can say, "WHY NOT MAKE IT A MOVIE "

Michael C totally rocks!! Your books are great... and Harry Bosch is the best. Please don't ever stop writing @ good 'ole Harry. We all see a little of ourselves in him and we love to cheer for him. His victories reflect some of we want AND need in our own miserable lives.

So I say it again - Please don't ever stop giving us Harry B books!!

Good news! Connelly is a wonderful writer. These are great stories - some of them, brilliant; not a bad book in the series, and no sign of burning out on the character. But Bosch so much belongs in L.A. Hong Kong?!? I guess we'll find out.
