This was the grand opening of the Anne Frank in the World Exhibit at the Martyr's Memorial Museum in Los Angeles on June 11, 1986. Anne is a tremendous symbol in the Jewish community of long enduring hope in the face of extreme persecution. Throughout her ordeal, with insight well beyond her years, she was able to maintain her innocence, her positive outlook, and her very special perspective of the world at large.
Many survivors, scholars and artists showed up at the event. Several actresses describe what it required of them to portray Anne in film and television.
