"You can't haul your groceries home on a bicycle". Living in Europe, that's what I do all the time. And kids ride to soccer games on bicycles. The problem with America is sprawl and infatuation with automobiles. Even with a supermarket a few hundred yards away, you often still have to drive because there's no way to get there on foot or riding a bicycle.

Good stuff. I hope our "leaders" are paying attention but I have my doubts. All we can do is keep after em and try to make it happen.

I hope this liar gets voted out of the Senate.
He ignores that fact that we need to reduce our demand to get over our addiction. He only says that "We can't park the SUV and ride a bicycle." He's one of those drill-baby-drill idiots, no Senator, giving the addict more-baby-more is NOT the answer.

Sorry from Idaho. It is shocking that this evil self-hating bigot, and admitted law-breaker, is still in the US Senate causing damage to the world. Larry Craig is a piece of garbage. All the people in Idaho have done nothing to stop this liar. And the US taxpayers will give him a huge pension when he finally leaves the Senate in 2009. Shame, shame, shame.

Poppycock. Maintaining and increasing flora, land and sea based, is the cheapest way to impact global climate change. Check back with us in 200 years to reduce the per acre tree count Senator.
