We negotiatied our salary, taking less money now and having the rest deposited into our retirement accounts for later. Same as if I were to hire you,and I will use easy to understand numbers, for $100.00 a day, but I am only going to give you $80.00 now, and put the other $20.00 into a pension plan for you. You still get $100.00, but 20% of it is deferred. hope it is clear now.

@Hammer54901 The bigger problem is the unions barely contribute to their own benefits. The majority of americans have to support you AND ourselves. We get paid less and work more hours not to mention DO OUR JOBS. You guys dont even have to work hard because the union will stop you from being fired. My uncle is an Army Ranger colonel and my youth advisor is a AF staff sergeant, and they fight FOR the american way of life which is getting out what YOU put in, not taking what THEY put in.

If you ANYTHING about the issues in this state, you would know that the fat rich guy is one of the 10% who is paying NO taxes, leading to the problem.
