RPG's after Chrono Trigger and FFVII had a hard time thriving bc the standards they had to measure up to were just too damn high. There are so many ppl out there who never had a chance to play such a well written and thought out game (seriously, this game could be a movie) and many others who never played later RPG's like SaGa Frontier's 1 & 2, Persona's 1 & 2 (though ppl play it now bc they hoped on the P3 band wagon smh), Vandel Hearts 1 & 2. The list goes on.

As the way I see it is that we are all puppets of our own morality and beliefs because they do have complete control over our actions. This isn't really a bad thing as much as it is just the analogy.
