Ambassador my Ass

This "Downtown Ambassador" for the Vancouver BIA shows off his warm and fuzzy nature for no apparent reason to myself, right across the street from the famous Gastown steam-clock.

The individual who assaulted me, Genesis Security and the DVBIA / GBIA chose not to apologize to me or discipline the guard in any way made known to myself so I felt compeled to take this into the public eye as well as small-claims-court.

There have been mixed reactions to this video, primarily questions as to why it is edited in this fashion and as to what occurred to set this individual off.

Firstly the clip was looped in order to show the actual length of the assault and to keep people from having to replay the snippet. Further more, at the immediate time of the assault I thought maybe something traumatic had just occurred in his life but it would just be speculation on my part.

The bottom line, the then new Security Services Act includes a Code of Conduct regulating how members of the security industry work with the public. This states that anyone engaged in security work must NOT use unnecessary force.

Did you video record this person before the 'shown' footage? Was he aware that you were videoing him?

Not everyone wants to be recorded without knowledge or consent to same. Is that what happened here?

@SeanLaw I have obviously recorded the individual in the past and as a person working in the public eye on public property in a highly dense tourist area he should expect no less. Was I recording him prior to the incident, no, I was assaulted at least 6 times before being able to pull my camera out and engage it.

This video is a snippet that was caught on tape in a crisis, thus its short and chaotic nature.

As for the proponents of this guard and his actions, Im sure that the Solicitor Generals office and the courts will decide whats best as required of them by the laws governing the Province of BC.

Though some dispersions have been made scepticism is a healthy thing as nobody is infallible but outright hateful insinuations and liable (or slander) is childish, even when produced by a fear response.

In my YouTube collection I have 2 not 3 vids of Shelly, the crack smoker is someone else. As for her awareness, from 150 feet away on the 5th floor, high as a kite, no she probably wasnt aware, I never statted all of my subjects were, just most all.

As for my sham, I do in fact vol. for the GBIS though you know how the media is, edit, edit, edit. I did not notice on the jerky podcast but I will get a copy to see if I was misrepresented.

From what I see, Shelly is the focal point of three films and I doubt highly she knew about it. The manner in which you depict her in such a way, best described as almost pathetic a being, be it smoking crack or attempting to scam Starbucks for a coffee, speaks volumes about you. I'd also like to comment in regards to your Global sham, you do not work for the Gastown BIA. The Ambassadors, however, are under contract to provide services on their behalf.
