The economic slowdown is leading to huge job losses around the world. In Egypt, it has led to widespread strikes, job cuts, and high food prices.

Haitham Rashwan was an employee at an Egyptian banking firm, where he worked his way up from marketing credit cards to become the branch manager.

But because of the global financial crisis, the company went bust and Rashwan must now find a new way to make a living. This is his story.
