Dont trust anyone with really strong ideological beliefs of either left or right. To be a conservative (with a small 'c', not necessarily the party!) means that you want to conserve what is already their, changing only what needs changing and making no drastic changes if you can possibly help it. Massive visionary changes of either left or right have normally led to massive fuck-ups.
Gradual, cautious change following the vast majority of the public opinion has worked in GB for centuries!

Even if they did have seats, you just can't have a dictatorship insatlled in 2009! Its absoulutly ridiculous!! But even UKIP are untrustworthy. Not re-vealing their policies on immigration and always getting into scandals. I don't think ANY right wing goverment will suceed. The conservatives are as far as I will go, and even then I am dubious of them.

the french are defending, while british are attacking. If the british are to take the position, in my opinion, in a warfare with single-shot muskets, you have to engage them in close combat. setting up a firing line and hoping to make more casualties than the enemy is not, in my opinion, a winning tactic: you don't gain control of the ground, and french reinforcements could still arrive. (I am more on medieval and reinassance tactics, my thought is quite hypotetical)
