Ray Blower has been successful with racing pigeons for many years, often being the highest prizewinner in Club and Federation.
In 2002 he decided to leave local club racing and join the Northern Provincial, racing with the top fanciers in the South Yorkshire area.
Ray found himself concentrating on the Midland National. In his last year of local Club racing he won17x1sts, 16x2nds, 17x3rds, 12x4ths, 12x5ths, 14x6ths, 14x7ths and 8x8ths. Winning all Averages and Points Trophies, All Nominations and Breeder/Buyer, Best Old Bird and Best Young Bird.
Since Racing in the Northern Provincial he has won many Prizes and was Highest Prizewinner in 2005 and 4th in 2006.
Some of his MIDLAND NATIONAL FLYING CLUB results include;
27th Open TOURS, 2005 - 428 miles, 6th-7th-8th LA FERTE BERNARD 2002 - 7000 birds - 381 miles, 3rd-12th Open PICAUVILLE 2002 -12000 birds. In 2006 he was 48th Open - 72nd Open TOURS, 1st Section, 9th Open FALAISE, 36th Section ALENCON.
His love affair with the Janssen strain of Pigeons started when his wife bought him some from the Louella stud and since then he has been looking to find other birds of the Janssen strain to blend in and create his own top family that wins from 50 miles to 500 miles.

wean your young birds using the best maple peas you can get your hands on.race them on geri+ mix some widowhood mix after first 5 races.i did this and went from bottom of the sheet to winning feds and section races :)
