  • boy, would love to see this crammed into the 2013 Hemi Challenger SRT8 as a MOPAR factory option

  • @SOFSoldier1 Phase 2 of this engine places the HP at around 600 at 6300 rpm and 542 T at 5200 rpm, normally aspirated. Second movie of this series. Have a look. No need for a supercharger unless you detune the camshaft for smog.

  • With enough fabrication will, you can install a lot of things into about anything. Related parts? That may be a challenge. Cost effective to get what you want? That is up to you. Have fun with your projects.

  • dude the modern day 426 hemi is the shit i am going to upgrade my srt8 with the pistons heads and cam once i get my income tax return then i will be chewing up and spitting fools out

  • that sound .... that FUCKIN AWESOME SOUND !!! i want one so bad :(

  • Interesting...my 2011 392 is "Dodge" rated at 470 HP/470 Ft-lbs, yet the certificate of origin from Chrysler states "491 SAE HP.." I wonder what MOPAR will crankl out next year for the 2013 HEMI...I have heard rumors of a blown 392 at 570 HP....this 426 looks like a wonderfulcounter to the ZL-1 and Shelby GT500.....

  • Alright, I have a Ford Falcon and I was thinking about getting one of these motors for it. Would that be a good idea or should I get a 429 cobra motor?

  • Sorry James but what is stated is that the Hemi "became known as the most powerful engine per cubic inch known to mankind". Please do not take words out of context. Modified, it was believed to be argueably true and is why the Hemi platform is still used today in Top Fuel drag racing. Richard Petty became "King Richard" driving a Hemi. In 1970-1971 Buddy Baker broke all top speed records at Daytona driving a Hemi. Ronnie Sox in Pro-Stock drag racing was called "the Boss" racing a Hemi.

  • I do not know what motivates disingenuous comments. The Ford 427 SOHC "cammer" engine was a Hemi. "Things" are banned for many reasons. The Ford 427 SOHC engine was not a pushrod engine. The Ford SOHC Hemi non-pushrod engine never ran, the Chrysler pushrod Hemi did. The 427 Ford non-Hemi pushrod engine in 1964 ran significantly slower than the Chrysler pushrod Hemi engine at Daytona. The Chrysler engine was eventually banned due to the Ford outcry over the Chrysler performance dominance
