One of 101 Lies Taught In Church Every Sunday. You can see the rest on my blog at www.gracewalkministries.blogspot.com or through my web site at www.gracewalk.org
Being a christian is not about being comfortable. Its not about what u want but what about God wants. Love god first then love your enighbor as u love your self. What is love? love is patient, love is kind ,ect. 1corinthian chp13:4. Remember Not everyone who says they are a christian is a christian. Many will be decieve others and they themselves will be decieved.
early Christians were real christains because they were selfless. Christians today dont measure up. They acted like christians are suppose to act. If u follow christ u are suppose to deny your self and follow him.And christians back then did that. they sold their possesions and followed. Christains today are very worldly they love money, the world, material things, and things of the world. There are not many real christians today, because people pick and choose whats convient for them.
Maybe Jesus should have thought of teaching more about the "New Covenant" taught by Paul instead of relying on Paul who never walked with him to do all of the work for him. I mean, Jesus is the Son of God, right?! Why did Jesus waste his time teaching something no longer applicable, rather than on what mattered? What's wrong with this picture?
Also, I don't see why the Lord's Prayer is anything more than a good summary of the OT.
Actually, I am supporting Jesus' teachings. This guy is bashing them. Did Jesus say his teachings were something to be temporarily followed? No. Who's the fool here?! If you honestly believe as this guy does, then I definitely know that you really don't know Jesus' teachings that well to be debating on such simple and obvious topics such as these.
You shouldn't waste your energy feeling sorry for me when you can spend more time actually comprehending what Jesus said.
@4EverTrying Jesus himself called people like you foolish, dull of heart and slow to believe. I really honestly feel sorry for you. You have bought a lie hook line and sinker and it is robing you of the wonderful life God has for you *IN* Jesus. You are "following" Jesus and instead God wants you to be IN Jesus. No one could be IN Jesus before he died, rose again, ascended into heaven and sent the Holy Spirit. before that man could only Follow and wonder. IN Jesus all things are made perfect.
Clearly, the nature of god never changes, but it's undeniable the way in which he interacts with his creation does. What is the dividing line of human history? It is the cross (Hebrews 9:15-19). To be a Christian means that we accept the finished work of the cross and no longer is it works that bring us closer to god. The new covenant is radically different than the mosaic law in which Jesus lived under (Galatians 4:4). If the new covenant is not real then what do we make of the lords praye
The point isn't that one needs to literally perform the words of Jesus. The point is that one needs to obey the teaching and commands of Jesus according to the teaching lessons He indended for them.

Assuming you agree with this guy,
