  • Thats a lot of power in a old 3,5 L engine!! I've got the 3.0CSi but not that good as this one!

  • Check the earlier posts. I screwed up on the typing. The dyno sheet shows 251 @ the rear wheels not 351. Would be nice though & this car drove very nicely.

  • I dont trust them single roller dynos. Keep waiting for them to jump off! : O

  • I would hate to be around if someone hit the brakes. But that would be a great video.

  • Nice video, but rarely can you get an M635CSi to make the standard 286bhp let alone the 351bhp thats claimed here. Fair play if its true and the dyno is right!

  • Sorry guys, that is a typo in the video. The chart I posted shows 251hp at the rear wheels. I should have checked my typing more clearly before posting. 351hp would have been awesome though.

  • what an amazing car man, you can be really proud of it, looks good and the engine is strong perfect combo

  • @ShepsM3 Isn't the 286bhp measured at the crankshaft? Then 251HP at the rear wheels is very nice, only a loss of 12%...

BHP = Brake Horse Power, measured before the loss in power caused by the gearbox, alternator, differential, water pump, and other auxiliary components such as power steering pump, muffled exhaust system, etc. (check wiki)

  • very nice car!! the rims are fantastic

  • @chippybmw - as far as I know they never come off. The power isn't actually straining the straps a lot as the wheels are spinning the roller and the roller moves eaisly.

Some of those double roller kind are slightly worse in terms of risk as they have a mechanical friction function to similate load and allow calibration. A failure in the friction device could slow down the rollers enough to start pushing the car off the rollers.

  • Nice car , i remember seeing a 635CSI on the TV programme Moonlighting in the late 80's what a Gorgeous car, i would like to own one of these one day, Black would be my perfect colour or Zinnobar red.

  • I have a 1985 M635csi.

Usually the M635csi doesn't even deliver its promised 286 horses. Mine comes up with 272hp after 190000km and 25 years. But it still does >260kph on the speedo with ease. It's a dream to drive, really

P.S. US models only delvered ±260hp due to catalyser.

  • it isn't the stock one. normaly it should have 286PS. Great car, I am in love with it

  • i got a boner.....

i thought my 6 series sounded wicked, which it does....
