The Technical Theatre Arts course at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama is split into three pathways; Design Realisation, Stage and Costume Management and Theatre Technology. However, in the first and second years students are required to study associated studies courses which explore work in parallel pathways; these associated studies can also be carried through into the third year of the course. In this way, the Guildhall's Technical Theatre Arts course combines the specialisation needed in today's industry with the broad scope of knowledge required to interface with colleagues in other areas.
The School's staff are one of its largest assets, as they have all worked in the industry and work closely with students to ensure that everyone is able to excel. The School already has excellent facilities in its Silk Street base and the external theatres it uses to put on productions, but these will become unmatchable when the new Milton Court development opens in 2013.
