http://livingfrugalandhappy.blogspot.com This is the main square/city center park of downtown Cuenca. It's a neat little park with pretty plants, a big water fountain, palm trees, and benches for resting while you eat your ice cream.

  • There's plenty of deep fried potatoes stands and sugary treats if one wants to indulge. However overall the lifestyle is that it's easier to stay healthy.

  • I have seen those individuals dressed up like a woman (using balloons under their clothes) only in PERU, they are trying to make a buck entertaining people. I'm afraid that guy must be a peruvian, cuencano men don't do such thing.

  • I see very few fat people

  • @HJKelley47 That's because 1 of 4 people of Cuenca has emigrated to the USA since 1980.

  • In many ways I could sense a strong American influence in dress styles, Blue jeans! Blue jeans! Blue jeans originated here in the States in 1873, and now they are popular around the world, even in Cuenca!

  • i figured people in that area were a little more healthy. Seems there are alot of overweight people there.
