With it's shops and restaurants, 5th Avenue running parallel with the Caribbean Sea is a favorite haunt of travelers visiting Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya.
Strolling in shorts and sandals, even with Christmas decorations around, it was hard to grasp that Christmas was just around the corner.
Peaceful, quiet and tranquil, this is the real Mexico.

  • Hello from Saskatchewan! We will be going to a resort near Playa Del Carmen in a few weeks, super excited! :D

  • I finally made it to this place! It was awesome, and it was bigger (more stores) than I had even expected! Prices were higher here than in PV, and they don't barter very much though

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING!!

    Greetings from Casablanca , Morocco.

  • Thanks so much for sharing! I love Mexico and wants others to understand that it is a safe place to visit.

  • Even though this is not considered the "Real" mexico, I would rather have this than some of the other Mexican towns... I was in Playa for a few weeks in the summer of 2010, and felt safer walkiing around here than I do back in my hometown back in the USA...it's inexpensive, safe, and American-English friendly...it's also a lot of fun..

  • Dude. This is not real Mexico. If you tell a local shop keeper/street actor you are from Canada and they know of the city you are from, of course they have not been there. Do you think they have ever even been on a plane or been to the airport? How many Mexicans do you see in airports?

Sure Mexico or Cuba whatever is paradise for white folks. But it's not paradise by any means. Try living on Mexican wages. Very bubble-like view of Mexico. Breeds ignorance imo.

  • Nice vid, addicting place for sure

  • Playa del Carmen, Cancun and The Mayan Riviera is WONDERFUL!!! I lived and worked there for two year and it is simply a marvelous friendly place.

Playa del Carmen, Cancun and the Mayan Riviera is SAFE & FRIENDLY & BEAUTIFUL.
