go into itunes. click itunes in the menu bar. click preferences. click the advanced tab. click importing. in import using dropdown click on AAC Encoder. It should work now!

....apart from i have downloaded all of the latest versions of iTunes and updated my iPhone to version 2.0 but i still do not have the ringtone application in iTunes...
do you know how i can get it?

umm. im not 100% sure what the solution is. but a possibility is that you should buy a ringtone in iTunes and it might pop up. hope it works. if not try uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling it.
