Why do lobbyists lobby???
To gain favorable treatment from congress. If congress did not have the power they now have (in other words - if they followed our Constitution) there would be no incentive for companies to try and direct that power to their own ends.

A lawyer friend once told me, laws are decided by lobbyists and judges. Thats it.
