Katie's first competition sword dance

Kate's first sword dance, Pleasanton Scottish Games, September 2007. Age 5. She messes up the third step, but I didn't care ... she recovered and nailed the ending! Not bad for her first time out.

notice how the piper plays this fast. The logic being, the less experienced the dancer the faster the tune is played, it makes it easier. I say the dancers did a great job considering their age

Wow - those are big swords to make Primaries dance with! She did a good job. I think now they recommend no hilts for primaries.

this is the cutest sword dance ive ever seen! the boy was great but the highlight was the girl. Im teaching my 6 yr old sister the sword dance now and she watched this with me and shes more eager to learn it now. Thankyou!
