This is an excerpt from a composition called Sideways Donkey that is sort of in the style of Ali Farka Toure, though you can get some Indian, jazz and other influences in there as well (no surprise if you know me). This is part of a performance from the new group that I am in at California Institute of the Arts, where each "jazz" group (about 30 of them i think) got to play one song so everyone could see what everyone else is doing.

Band members:
Laura Geier: Violin
Dave Cipriani: Guitar
James Klopfleisch: Upright Bass
Greg Loewer: Percussion

  • So...have you ever listened to Ali Farka Toure?
