Less Exposure Segmental Spine (LESS) Surgery for L4-5 Degenrative Spondylolisthesis through a 2 inch incision with minimal blood loss. The unstable and painful spine was stabilized with FacetFuse Transfacet Pedicle Screws, InSpan Interspinous Plate Fixation, TLIFT PEEK Interbody, DBMPure bone graft in the interbody space and facets. The technologies used were all from SpineFrontier Inc. The LES philosophy teaches us to preserve the facets, spinous processes, and the multifidus attachments and integrity with minimal muscle retraction and short surgery time. We directly visulaize and decompress the nerves with less radiation exposure to the patient from use of fluoroscopy as is needed in fusion that use minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS) using percutaneous cannulas/retractor tubes to take out the facet to place a TLIF cage.

  • Ouch!! not gonna go there... Have had an epidural steroid injection into the S1-L5 disc area, did not help. Recently had a micro discectomey of the L4-L5 disc, did not help, actually made my back worse (think it was the cutting of the spinal ligament). Now have no real strength when bending.... Now feeling shelved and forgotten by Alberta Health Services. Not to mention my family Doctor..... Degenerative disc's SUCK!!

  • Yeah,,,,,this just made me think twice bout this fusion
