Im a liberal but Anne is mostly right about the crime rate of kids from single mothers.But to cut welfare flat out thats a bit drastic.

hey maybe there isn't a "left-wing" defense for this woman because she made the choice to have IVF (which frequently results in multiple births) with no source of income and 6 kids already. This woman was clearly irresponsible and selfish but don't try and get some kind of vindication off of 1 case. It's wrong for people to live off the system, but don't condemn all mothers that may need welfare as leeches to society. & maybe the definition of "illegitimate" has something to do with those stats

Right on Ann! Why should we have to pay to support the delusion octomom nut - put the kids up for adoption - they did nothing wrong - at least they'd have a good home.

"Nothing" except they've designated hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax money to pay for her children. Policies like that are why the state of CA is going bankrupt.

acfan84...check your facts. She is on food stamps, which is $45 mos per child, NO Soc Sec but she is on Disability, which comes out of her own soc sec....Hardly 100's of thousands of dollars....
