(Sponsored by the M.A. Program in Cultural Production)
Since 2005, artist Atem Aleu (now a M.A. student in Cultural Production at Brandeis) has led the artists of the African Refugee Artists Club (ARAC) in their powerful explorations of memory, loss and hope, chronicling diverse experiences of the Sudanese civil war and its aftermath. This exhibition features work developed during ARAC's summer 2007 workshops in Kenya, Uganda and Southern Sudan, as well as several new works by Atem Aleu himself.
The exhibition is held in conjunction with the symposium, "Hitting Close to Home: Art and Human Rights from Slavery to Guantanamo" at Brandeis, February 2-3, 2009.
The Association The African Dream is Hunter of Talents from Africa, Mixed or Inspired by African culture, in favour of Managers, Producers, Organizers worldwide and of the increasing interest of the public.
