A strange giant "sea creature" has been rampaging the seas. The American naval ship Abraham Lincoln is sent to investigate, but is sunk by "the creature" which turns out to be The Nautilus, the fantastic submarine of the enigmatic Captain Nemo. He takes the survivors hostage, including Professor Aronnax and his daughter (who are French). After they pledge not to escape, Nemo shows them the wonders of the underwater world, and even takes them hunting on the sea floor.

You might wish to consider the next one he wrote about Nemo "Mysteriously Island", but keep in mind its nothing like these movies with the creatures and such, only the finaly months of the Captain and a group of escaped prisoners of war from a Southern prison camp by balloon.
