On September 11, 2009, Guitar Player magazine gave out their first "Jason Becker Award" to its first recipient; the composer/classical/electric guitarist, Jason Becker himself. This is Marty Friedman's (Jason's best friend and former band mate) letter of congratulations to Jason.
