I'm afraid I have to disagree with you. Star Trek 09 was a good movie, but I don't think it matched the standard set by TOS

Most of the new guys were cast really well, but some of them did things out of character. Spock marooning a cadet on an ice planet for disobeying orders? RealSpock would only have confined him to quarters

Parts of the story were ridiculous, but it was entertaining

I didn't like the lense flares. I need to wear sunglasses whenever I watch this movie

Overall, not bad

@StoneKnivesBearskins Thanks for the response :) It's good to have varying views of it. This is the only version of Star Trek I've ever seen so I can only grade it as a stand-alone film.

@nikedmondson If you want to see the best of Star Trek, watch Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. That movie is what Trek is all about.

If you want to see really funny Star Trek, watch Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home.

However, I don't recommend watching 4 right after 2. You have to watch 3 first.

All others Trek films are pretty stand alone films, but those three make up a trilogy, and a really good one too. :D

I'm glad you weren't upset by my opinion. I was afraid that it would upset people.

JJ Abrams is a master. i also love how the plot is completely new and doesnt have to much to do with the originals, that way you dont have to be a hardcore fan. smart move. great plot. fuck yes. for those of you who havent seen it...dont be fooled...shes green. sexy.

fuck yes. 10/10. if this movie was a female, fifi would marry her. i cant wait to see it again dude. all the actors were amazing, even the side actors. and the affects were the best ive ever seen. being a star wars fan i would have to say that was better than any other star wars movie, but thats because its outdated youre right. but still it was amazing.
