This is it. The 1970 24 minute film on the CN/UA Turbo train. It is in 3 parts and it is taken from a digital master. The Turbo was Canada's first and only high speed train and this film is fantastic. Enjoy watching this great piece of Canadian passenger rail history. • oh you do wow that is amazing yeah those trains was was awesome it's a shame they was not upgraded they would of been a success i think they was ahead of they time.

  • wow i actually worked on these trains and I know the guy serving in this Video

  • No. The first successful tilting design was developed by Talgo in Spain. However, the TurboTrain does use this same design, as does the Amtrak Cascades, which actually uses Talgo rolling stock, though operates them at way below their design speed. The AVE high speed rail network in Spain also uses them (Class S-102 / S-112), rated for 330km/h.

  • What happened to the Turbotrains? Cut up for scrap?

  • The first "Pendolino"?!

  • Oil crisis.

  • Are there any surviving Turbo Trains?

  • Why does the name Sikorsky come to mind as I look at this marvelous design?

  • 0:22 is them installing the nuclear reactor
